Begin Again if You Need to…

This has been the most challenging summer that I can remember. The heat was unbearable at times. It made it hard to go outside and be active. Although I could see progress in my health, wellness, and fitness journey, my momentum came to a screeching halt. How do I regain my momentum? Begin again…

If we spend less time complaining about what we didn’t do and spend more time doing it, we can experience the benefits of starting over. Whether you’re on the road to recovery from an illness or injury, bouncing back from a “setback” or you simply gave up, it is possible to get moving. Jump back in the saddle and begin again. Would you rather start over than not do anything and suffer the consequences or continue complaining? It’s not an option for some of us if we want to have a quality of life. How about taking small steps such as walking for 5 or 10 minutes, even if it’s walking in place? Or not eating that candy bar and choosing an apple or your favorite piece of fruit instead. Gradually work your way into a routine and increase your activity as you go. Surprisingly enough, your body will follow. Getting back on track is more mental than anything.

There are so many other ways you can begin again with your health wellness and fitness journey. Try journaling, and be honest with yourself. Write down why you stopped or gave up. Journal about how you felt when you were intentional about your health. Maybe you can determine the patterns that hinder you from being consistent in your health, wellness, and fitness journey. You can decide your destiny. Take action, choose to make a fresh start today!
